Candice's Projects

Take a look at what I've been working on!

React Dictionary

This app was my final project to get my React certificate. I learned so much making this. I learned how to make multiple api calls, integrate audio files, and place an image in my app. This is a very cool dictionary and practical. I use it while doing school work if I get stumped on a word.

React Weather App

In SheCodes React I created an updated weather app. I made a more sophisticated weather app. It has cool animated icons and I was trying to go for a rad glass effect behind it. It has a switch to go between C and F temperatures. The bottom only shows F. In time I want to make it all work. I also want to make this responsive.

Frogger

After my SheCodes Responsive course, I discovered Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets (Sass). Sass is a preprocessor scripting language, and an interpreter in Visual Studio Code translates it into traditional CSS. I watched a 20-minute crash course on YouTube, which was awesome. To try out what I watched, I made a landing page for the video game Frogger. I didn’t try out every concept covered, and I really only dipped my toes into the potential of Sass, which, interestingly enough, can get kind of like JavaScript. I totally enjoyed working with it and plan to try it with a more complex project. This was just for fun.
