Here is my Google IT Support certificate

Google IT Support Certificate

I was wrapping up my dissertation during the summer and fall of 2023. I bought a book about the CompTIA A+ certificate and decided also to take additional classes from Google on Coursera. I completed Google’s IT Support certificate. It was five classes covering a multitude of skills. It was challenging and engaging. As a tech generalist, I enjoyed spending hours learning in the course rooms. However, my favorite class was Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User. I picked up some new Windows/Powershell and Ubuntu Linux commands, practiced ones I was already familiar with, and overall had awesome new adventures on the command line. I want to go on and learn some shell scripting and learn automation. The parts pertaining to System Administration duties, the command line, Active Directory, and cybersecurity were a blast.

The five classes were:

  • Technical Support Fundamentals
  • The Bits and Bytes of Computer Networking
  • Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User
  • System Administration and IT Infrastructure Services
  • IT Security: Defense Against the Digital Dark Arts

Here are my Cisco Badges

I only have one so far but I'm going to get more. I did the cybersecurity module in the summer of 2023. It was really cool and fun!

Here are my Microsoft certificates

I was stir crazy between degree programs at the end of 2017. While waiting to get into my doctoral program, I collected certificates from the Microsoft Educator Center. Here is a link to my transcript. I realize at this point experience from 2017 was awhile ago, but I had fun doing this. It also shows Office skills. Really I just liked doing it though. I picked up skills I still use. It was how I began my love affair with OneNote. OneNote got me though dissertations, code camp, and other certifications. I recommend OneNote to everyone.
