Hi. I'm Candice

Hi, I'm Candice. I just got my Ph.D. in technology and innovation management. I've had a varied educational background. I started in the arts and made a master's program and thesis focused on the history of technology and how it has shaped culture. After graduating from that program, I decided to chase my love of tech. I would love to make a career in tech. I am a technology generalist, so my interests in technology are incredibly varied. I've pursued technology because it makes me happy and it's fun. I've made a share of assignments about building inclusive projects and LGBTQ+ projects. My dissertation was LGBTQ+ end-user research about experiences on the internet. It was human subject research. While going to school, I had a rich curriculum. In the sections under this, I outlay the classes I had. I received a scholarship, so I often made papers with controversial and ethical issues to push myself and intentionally get the most out of all my learning experiences. I am always hungry for new knowledge and to push myself.

I don't know everything, so every day is a new adventure. I wanted to learn coding, so I learned front-end development through SheCodes, which is how I learned to make this site. I also looked for many free, open-source, and some paid learning options too. I made opportunities and learning experiences when I wasn't sitting in a virtual course room or library. Outside of SheCodes, I continued my coding journey through YouTube and other sites. created virtual machines. I made a non-practical Windows 95 nostalgia box to blare my favorite 90s tunes and play CD-ROM games I missed. I also made Ubuntu and Linux Mint virtual boxes. I continued my learning with Linux, which I had picked up previously thanks to Raspberry Pi and reformatting the hard drives of old Windows laptops and morphing them into Linux laptops. I also participated in Google's five courses, IT Support Specialist certification, and developed sysadmin skills.

Nothing makes me happier than blaring punk records, drinking a ton of coffee, and tech-ing it up! Outside of tech, I love spending time with my spouse and a very cool turtle friend. I like making cool spiked and studded bracelets. I also make crystal and wirewrapped pieces. I am really into collecting and playing old video games on my Retron 5. I'm a huge nerd about pizza. Any house I live in has to have a pizza stone and electric oven that I can make super hot. I love crafting my own dough, sauces, and cheese blends. I want to make an original NY-style pizza.
